If I had a nickle for every time I'd seen someone that is KD'd while in aetherhold and get aerial BreakPowered I'd have enough money to literally buy everyone on IS a transfer off and then shut the server down.

So, you said that songweaver's protective ode only blocks physical damage so assassins can aether's hold through it. I thought aether's hold was physical???

All assassins's rune popping skills (using the rune carved on a target to deal damage+effect when applicable) do magic damage. However, after today's patch, SW's Protective Ode blocks both kind of damage, like Stone Skin for mages, so that statement is invalid.

If you guys want some more details on shock resistance and penetrations for certain skills/classes, a French player unpacked all the 4.7 skills here, most of them are still consistent with 4.8 but haven't had anyone unpack the 4.8 versions yet.

You can see gladiator has +200 knockdown penetration as a passive. Templar does not have this passive skill, and historically it has been the source of the common myth that polearms have a higher knockdown rate than greatswords when glads want to know which weapon to use.


The other important passive skill to note is that Chanters and Clerics have a passive which gives them +200 resistance to Knockdown and Knockback, and +400 resistance to spin (yeah pretty ridiculous number). Fang Strike/Beast Kick cleric/chant can resist that 20% of the time which you may have noticed.

Glad passive completely cancels this out so they can expect things like Crushing Blow to knockdown reliably, whereas a templar's sword storm is going to see some fails.
