Default Feeling overwhelmed by amount of skills

I am having a hard time prioritizing all the skills that we have. I know it's not specific to gladiator, and other classes have more, but I don't know which ones to keep on my skillbar or not, so I try to bind everything. What are the core skills that I should be using? What is unnecessary and can be left unbound?

I don't know if this is a joke or not. I'm sorry it's the forums fault I swear.

Else, jic it's not, you should have almost every skill bound to an easily accessible key.

What bindings do you use at the moment?

EDIT:

I can help you most if you are using a Nostromo/Orbweaver/Tartarus alongside a Naga, or a PS4/XB1 controller.

I currently use 1-12 on my mouse, 1-6 (plus alt, control modifiers), F1-F4. I've experimented with using QERTYGHZXCVBN and control / shift variants.

I've seen glads (supposedly top-performing) with skillbars like this:

...which is what made me wonder.

He has a skillbar or two hidden. That image is of an old old clip as well.

If the bars you leveled with no longer suffice, start learning a new layout entirely.

I use 1-8 on my mouse then QERF to finish off the action bar. Shift-CTRL-Alt mods with my final bar having my consumables (except GHP) and stances unbound (you should have Def Prep and Slaunghter bound though if you are serious about PVP).

I think I have another action bar with 1-6 marking and targeting, bound to num pad.

I recommend you have skills that you are able to use while moving bound on your first action bar, and quick reflex skills bound to your left index finger.

EDIT: 3-4-e-r-f-t are all fast/close enough for your left index finger
EDIT2: I have attack bound to C/Shift-C/Alt-C and CTRL-C to ensure I can weave without having to remove/replace my little finger from/to a mod key. I taught myself click-to-move as well to relieve my left hand of some of the burden of movement.

It's weird, I actually leveled with the 2nd set of bindings I mentioned, then went to this configuration when I bought my mouse. I'll give your setup a shot though -- it looks like it might work for me. Thanks!

It's been my experience that, while overwhelming at first, eventually your skills will be committed to muscle memory. If it's any consolation, I suspect that everyone went through that at one point or another, whether they admit it or not.

I think this thread is fairly old now but...

Having recently picked up Glad (I'll link a couple videos below) I find that I weave much less than I did on my Temp and incredibly less than I do on my Assassin. That's fairly common knowledge, I think, and weaving doesn't seem nearly as important on a glad (I know I'm going to catch flak for this, especially from Jake). I do skill spam. Sorry! I admit it. There are circumstances where I absolutely weave, but it is an almost insignificant amount. I play angry/aggressive as hell; I spam high damage skills and I am pretty nyerking decent at keeping up with someone who is trying to escape. I don't AoE unless I know my chains will complete and they will still be in range when I am down.

People argue on sharp strike over whirling but the one 3m leap we have works super well if you are reserved with it, plus our cleaves... We honestly have a plethora of ways of slowing down or keeping up with our opponents... Practicing without whirling has so far been doing well for me, I think, but I am still an amateur.

TL:DR
Put your high spike/dmg skills on easy binds.
Put buffs like zerking and UD on simple but combination binds so you don't accidentally hit them when you don't want to. (IE: Shift Q and Shift E?)

If you find you have too many skills, reserve some. AoE only when you know your opponent will not be out of range when you finish your combo. (I'll include a fun clip below for an example).

The more you reserve certain skills, the more you will find you don't really have as many as you think you do and the more you will work your muscle memory. It is honestly all about remembering binds... Makes it much easier if you are organized as well.
