Default Sorceror - advanced questions

I started sorc and in order to plan enchanting my gear I need answers on following questions:

1. Does BASE ATTACK of weapon (240-260 for example) affect how much damage will I do to target when using skills (fire harpoon, ice harpoon, inferno, glacial shard.. etc..)? Or it only depends on my "mboost"-"his defences"?

2. a) most ORBS have that " (fire) " thingy on them. Does that means I will do more damage when using FIRE skills?
b) most TOMES have that " (water) " thingy on them. Does that means I will do more damage when using WATER skills ?

3. Gunslingers have +300 MAAC passive, invisible stat. Do sorceror have such thing?

1) I think MB is more important than attack, but I don't know exactly how it works.

2) Never knew about it.

3) No, mages need to socket MA, 2k AT LEAST.

MA is the trick... A class that stacks MR (like many Clerics) will take you for a walk around the park if you don't have MA. You need MA. Most players ignore it and just go with boost… Big mistake IMHO.

1.) No it only affects AA damage. Skill damage is based purely on Magic Boost.
2.) No. It determines the elemental damage of the weapon auto attack.
3.) No. We do not, however in later patches our CC's have a passive MA increase.

Sub question: I saw that CC a few times but I didn't get it what it means. What is CC? :)

edit: I google it. It is set of sleep/rooting skills we have. Oh yea I agree with that future update. I paid attention those skills need more MA than dmg skills :)

Sm's should be nerfed into oblivion, if anything.

In this case CC only pertains to our Sleeps and Trees, rooting will have the same MA. As far as I know SM's will not be getting a passive MA boost to their fears.
